About This Listing

Gretsch G5125 Hollowbody W/ Gigbag

My dear Guitar friends. A genuine gem of an instrument.  From a clean non-smoking professional musician's studio. The Bigsby tremolo spring has been upgraded from the 7/8" to the 1 1/8" spring. Tremolo is so smooth you would think it a Floyd Rose. The Neck Volume has a treble bleed circuit. The Rosewood fingerboard has been cleaned & well treated/ moisturized with Dr. Ducks Axe Wax and is nice and dark.  Upgraded Grover 106 Series Original Locking Rotomatic Tuning Machines make a huge difference in Stability and tone!

The USA-Made DeArmond Dynasonic 2000 pickups are no longer made. You can find a wealth of information on the history and specs of these pickups online. The price for a pair of these pickups alone NOS (New Old Stock) is $500.

This instrument, although not considered to be as "high-end" as its Japanese counterparts, is remarkably well-crafted. The historic-style aged binding is exceptional. Also, the neck joints are among the best that I've ever seen.

Frets are in perfect condition, with no dents or wear. Newly polished for this sale. The playability is exceptional and smooth. Newly strung for this sale with custom gauges D'Addario NYXL 10, 13, 16, 25, 35, 45 -  One of my best set-ups yet. The sound is Glorious.

There is one minor issue. if you look at the front of the headstock, there is a mysterious streaking/ discoloration that is under the finish in places. I did not notice it until photographing. The finish is smooth as glass, but something I can’t quite explain under the finish. Otherwise, the instrument is in exceptional cosmetic condition.
