Incredibly clean and collector grade example of a Washburn Style 6 flat top, with original hard shell coffin case, and muslin shipping sack (Lyon and Healy logo can be seen on exterior of bag)! Solid pegheads with Champion geared friction tuners have been noted on Washburn guitars made from 1884 until 1887 when serial number stamping began. The concert sized body features gorgeous Brazilian rosewood, and a spruce top; appointments include celluloid binding on top/back, rope marquetry trimming top, fancy inlaid backstrip and rosette; original ebony bridge with pearl inlay; some finish checking is present on sides, with extremely light wear on top. The cedar neck has an ebony fingerboard, original frets, and rosewood peghead overlay atop the solid peghead; comfortable V profile with volute. Coffin case is in fine original condition but does not include handle.
