The SD models have been discontinued for years so this is a rare opportunity to get one. The SD-1R is for the middle position single coil, as it has been reverse wound for hum-cancelling in the 2nd & 4th position. You can get great tones with this one and it will work if you already have an SD or maybe an SA and SF model that they currently make.
