The main difference, in this writer’s opinion, between this magnificent instrument from 2012 and today’s model is the latest models include a bevel of the body where the playing arm rests. Other than that, the buyer can acquire an instrument which has developed a rich luxurious sound as is anticipated in fine instruments such as this.

Alejandro Cervantes was born in Paracho, Michoacan, Mexico, and started playing the guitar when he was an adolescent, working in his father's workshop helping him make guitars, and learning little by little the luthier's arts. He went on to study classical guitar at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City. Both experiences provided him a profound knowledge of the guitar, and led him to use a holistic approach to understanding the guitar both in terms of playability and acoustics. He moved to San Diego a number of years ago and has become an internationally respected guitar maker whose guitars may be found in many guitar salons and shops. His Signature I Crossover model offers the power one expects in a high-end classical guitar, with full, firm, responsive and clear voice, with rich complex harmonics and color; yet offers a player the slightly narrower nut dimension and radiused neck for ease of playing. This guitar is in near mint condition offering superior sonic performance for classical, bossanova and other jazz styles.

The Humi-Case has two sponge chambers (included) for humidification.  This guitar has been cared for meticulously,  is essentially unblemished and always in a humidified case.  The Ebony fingerboard when cleaned, displays very little wear.  The fret wire is in excellent shape as is the rest of the guitar.  It was played for enjoyment only, never gigged.  9 year old guitars in this condition are clearly hard to find.  Its sound is magnificent.

The case is in very good to excellent condition.  There are a few scratches on the lid surface where it is domed and a very minor scratch on the lid at the headstock area.  In other words, it has done its job as expected for 9 years.  Structurally as well as for the interior, otherwise the case is in superb condition.

A link to a Youtube video of a demonstration of this model configuration from Gryphon Stringed Instruments is provided to give an idea of the tone of this instrument.  It has the Cocobolo back & sides and the spruce top.  The necks may be different.  The demo guitar is new and the guitar featured here for sale is several years old providing a mature tone as such guitars typically develop.  They are both exquisite in their own right.

This guitar has been impeccably maintained and has been kept at around 65 deg F. and always in its humidified case when not being played.  It is in mint condition.
