About This Listing

By 1977, Larrivée has gained the respect of players and luthiers worldwide. Seeking a warmer climate and easier access to valuable Sitka spruce, Larrivée relocates to the West Coast of Vancouver Island, bringing with him a handful of irreplaceable staff.  In Victoria, Jean begins to incorporate new ideas in tooling and manufacturing, while still creating a hand-built instrument.

This L-bodied guitar from 1978 is proof of Jean Larrivée's incredible craftsmanship. The Indian rosewood body is paired with a spruce top adorned with abalone trim, ebony bridge with pearl 'L' inlay and beautiful ebony/maple rosette. Another stunning detail is the faun headstock inlay by Wendy Larrivée. Her unique and spectactular inlays are artworks themselves, and elevate the guitars to a whole new level.

This is a rare find and a great sounding instrument! A well balanced, mature sound makes this guitar a joy to play. It is in good condition with the usual dings and scratches and one repaired crack on the bass side of the body.

Comes in a Gator hardshell case with TFOA passport.
