Original vintage Akai “Project Nineteen Ninety Seven” custom electric in gorgeous playing shape. These akai axes are impossibly rare, and never found in such nice condition. Designed by the man, Mr. Hidesato Shiino himself, of H.S. Anderson “madcat” fame, and manufactured by vestax, the 1997 is truly one of the crown jewels of Japanese guitars.
This one is no exception, and is an absolute joy to play. The neck is arrow straight, and scary fast, solid ebony board and frets excellent, and of course, those pickups! Dual active/ passive, the exclusively developed product of akai RnD, there is simply nothing else like them. The do woody and stratty, to straight up nasty, all with glorious richness and detail.
Cosmetically, she’s very nice indeed, with lots of distinguished and tasty patina, finish wear, and mojo, all included at no extra charge. The hardshell case pictured is included.
