This is a Sony SRA-2 recording/microphone pre-amp. It was the tube pre-amp for Sony's tape recorder of the same name.
These sound great when working properly. Uunfortunately, this one is not.
They have the richness and character you would expect from old tube amp. Tame Impala used one among other great artists who have recorded with these.
I can recommend some people to restore this if you need a recommendation :)
