About This Listing

This rare and unique instrument is a Cremona 544 built in the 1950's by German master-builder Alfred Brauer who worked for this company situated in Luby u Chebu, Czechoslovakia (ger. Schönbach). The mandolin is visually reminiscent and based on the design of Hofner 545's. This is a meticulously crafted top-tier historical instrument in that also retains great playability and beautiful projecting sound!

The instrument is in great shape without any structural issues, cracks etc., the varnish is all original as are the individual components (including the carved rosewood and ebony bridge, the tuners and the tailpiece). The neck is straight with comfortable action, an ebony fretboard and frets in very good condition.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the instrument. I will send reference links and/or a video or audio recording upon your request.
