Brand New Huber VRB-3 Truetone 5 string flathead banjo made in Tennessee by master craftsman Steve Huber. This banjo was also set up at the Huber factory and receives a final inspection before shipment by Geoff Hohwald.
The VRB-3 is the Huber reproduction of the pre-war style-3 banjo, surely the most common of all the 1930’s flatheads. It features a mahogany neck and resonator, with our 1930’s replica Huber HR-30 Tone Ring and Huber Engineered Rim.
The mahogany neck imparts a sweetness to this model with a warm blending of notes that create a classic bluegrass sound. The rosewood fingerboard and double cut headstock overlay are inlaid with a style-3 pattern. It is finished with a natural mahogany stain, with antiqued binding and antique metal finish on the nickel parts. Reproduction “grained ivoroid” tuner buttons complete the vintage look on this model. This features the Flying Eagle inlay pattern on the fretboard.
All serious banjo players need to do themselves a favor and check out Huber banjos in any way possible, even on youtube. Steve Huber has been a banjo maker for years upon years and through endless experimentation he has been able to master a design that is entirely reminiscent of the pre war banjo. The function, tone and aesthetics of each banjo surpass even the most demanding player. I cannot recommend Huber banjos enough to any player that is looking for the absolute best modern day banjo design available.
