Selling a Kustom 250-1 bass amp head, manufactured in Chanute Kansas between 1971-1974. Tuck and roll Naugahyde gives this thing a very unique look. This amp is rated at 125 watts RMS (250 peak) but it sounds way louder
- plug it into a 4 ohm 410 or 215 and it will thunder.
It was upgraded to a grounded 3 prong plug (based on the sticker, the electrical work was done in Los Angeles). Both channels work. This solid state head is as heavy as a tube amp and happily, as you start to push it, it gives an overdrivey effect like a tube amp rather than breaking up unpleasantly.
It has some black tape repairs along the bottom front and back, and at one point the owner was Jim McDonald. I know this because he carved his name into the back plate. There's a lot of working musicians named Jim McDonald, but I don't know which one owned this.
You will see many Kustom Tuck-n-roll heads out there, but very few of them will be K250s. This is one of the very few.
