Item Description


The Yamaha YP-D71, released in 1975 during the "Golden Era" of Japanese audiophile equipment, is a highly-respected direct-drive turntable that was released exclusively in Japan. The YP-D71 was created with three primary goals: high rotational accuracy, high sensitivity, and low interference from vibrational noise. The YP-D71 uses a DC Hall motor with an FG servo control circuit (with quartz PLL servo) to drive the 30 cm aluminum platter. The quartz PLL servo in the YP-D71 was designed to eliminate the phase difference between the FG frequency and the crystal reference signal, significantly improving rotational stability. The tonearm features further innovations to reduce mechanical resonances. The YP-D71 offers exceptional performance by virtue of its robust and unerring construction, as expected from Yamaha.

This unit is in very good condition, with minor general wear throughout, including a few scratches (please see photos). There is some coloration and tiny cracks on wood plinth (see pictures). Dustcover has some scuffs (see dust cover policy below). The turntable has been thoroughly checked and tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation. The 33 and 45 settings both work perfectly, and the platter rotation is like clockwork, as expected from Yamaha products of this era, which were built for a lifetime of operation. This item doesn't come with 45 adapter, cartridge and headshell.
