The Vigier GV Wood is easily one of the greatest hardtail guitars I've played. The neck is fast and comfortable, the tone is vocal and 3-dimensional, the build quality superb, and the color is beautiful. Once again, I was musically inspired playing this Vigier GV Wood, it seems to happen every time I play a Vigier, so I wasn't surprised, I simply enjoyed the blissful moment. Let me run though all the amazing, not so immediately noticed, features of this French crafted instrument. The Schaller locking tuners are custom made for Vigier with more mass than standard, this adds more weight to the headstock and increases tone (a very old recording secret). The hardened Stainless Steel zero fret consists of 6 individual pieces that are user replaceable if ever needed. The fretboard is made of a man made material called Phenowood, a combination of Phenolic resin and wood cellulose, and looks like Black Glass. The strap buttons are secured with machine screws into a Brass insert imbedded deep into the Alder body, these are never going to strip or come loose. The pickups are mounted with a 3 screw system that allows the player to adjust, not only the height, but the angle of the pickup as well. The output jack is locking so you'll never come unplugged while shredding on stage. And then, of course you have the 90/10 Maple/Carbon neck that never bows or goes out of whack, it doesn't even have a truss rod, it doesn't need one, and this lack of truss rod further enhances the tone of the instrument. But most importantly, this instrument plays great, is expressive and responsive to the player's touch, and will inspire you to new musical heights.
