About This Listing
This D.4 is in good condition and working well. Sound is strong and clear in all channel and mic inputs. Sound is strong and clear from main, booth, zone, and headphone outputs. Send/Return ins and outs work as they should. Faders are smooth in movement and respond accurately. Potentiometers turn smoothly and respond accurately. All buttons and switches in good shape and operate properly.
Both multi-band analog filters work well and sound excellent. Meter and cue lights illuminate properly. 24-channel FireWire audio interface has worked perfectly, plug and play, on a Mac running OS X Mojave.
One flaw to note is that the crossfader channel assign does not seem to be working on channels 3 and 4. Channels 1 and 2 work fine in this way. Channels 3 and 4 are fully functional otherwise.
As this is an older mixer, there is sometimes a little static or crackle when turning controls. This is very mild and shouldn't impact normal use. Just please do not expect absolutely perfection.
As shown in photos, this has a custom skin installed. This is a StyleFlip skin and it was installed according to StyleFlip's detailed instructions, meaning it should peel off easily without leaving residue, if desired. Please see photo 12 for a shot of the mixer prior to the skin being applied. For those curious, the skin is a rendering of Joseph Cornell's "Medici Slot Machine" collage, created in 1942.
