About This Listing
Made in Madrid, Spain 1968. This guitar was built during one of the best periods of Jose Ramirez III, and was made by Ignacio Rozas (stamped "IM" on the inside heel. Ignacio M. He worked for Jose Ramirez III from 1959 to 1969, and then joined the Contreras shop, where he worked from 1970 to 1979, before he opened his own shop.
This guitar was built in the famous Jose Ramirez III workshop, which for over half a century has produced instruments performed on by countless professionals from Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening.
The guitar has a few small performance use scars both on the top and the back of the neck as seen in the photos. The scars do not impact the beautiful tone and incredible sound. It is 64mm scale and the action is slightly higher which is common with these old Ramirez guitars. But you have heard the Ramirez sound by the worlds most talented guitarists.
This guitar is suitable for professional level Classical and Flamenco repertoire. This is a family heirloom that I'm sad to say goodbye to but happy to see it go to a talented guitarist or a fine instrument collector.
