YAMAHA YP-700C: A nice vintage Japanese "Golden Era" turntable!
Item Description
The Yamaha YP-700C, released in Japan in 1974 during the "Golden Era" of Japanese audiophile equipment, is an excellent belt-drive turntable. The YP-700C features a 30 cm aluminum platter and a synchronous outer rotor motor. The entire mechanism is suspended with Yamaha’s proprietary double-float suspension system, where the platter and tonearm are mechanically isolated from the cabinet. Furthermore, the motor is isolated by a double-suspension system. These measures isolate critical components from vibrational noise, enhancing the SNR of the turntable. The YP-700C also features an automatic mechanism with auto start and cut functions. Moreover, this turntable allows pausing of the record or replaying from an intermediate position. The “C” model includes the ability to remove the dust cover and a castor open pore finish. The YP-700C offers exceptional performance by virtue of its robust and unerring construction, as expected from Yamaha.
This unit is in good condition, with minor general wear throughout, including some rust on the hinges (please see photos and refer to dust cover policy below). The unit has been thoroughly cleaned and serviced, checked and tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation. The 33 and 45 settings both work perfectly, and the platter rotation is like clockwork, as expected from Yamaha products of this era, which were built for a lifetime of operation. Does not include headshell and cartridge (no stylus).
