Up for sale, a 1984 Kramer Pacer Special in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Incredibly well built, Kramer guitars erupted in popularity in the 1980s thanks to an impactful collaboration and endorsement from Eddie Van Halen. This original Pacer was crafted in the USA during the golden age of Kramer production, featuring a one-piece maple neck, thick slab rosewood fretboard, Floyd Rose tremolo, and a single stock Schaller humbucker in the bridge position coupled to a three-way mini toggle, individually selecting the coils or offering full humbucker operation. This Pacer has a clear powerful natural tone with sweet sustain, translating well through the single humbucker. The pickup offers full-yet-focused low end, lots of midrange detail, and cutting treble articulation. The guitar weighs 10lbs 1oz and has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and slinky action.

The maple neck has a D-shaped profile carve with prominent shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .855” deep at the 1st fret and .940” at the 12th. The extremely thick slab rosewood fretboard features dot inlay and pristine original medium jumbo fretwire. The frets have a fairly flat fret level, yet the fretwire still has decent meat, playing effortlessly up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is 25 1/2", and the nut measures a full 1 11/16“ in width. The "classic" headstock features the Kramer logo and set of chrome Schaller-made nickel-plated tuners that turn smoothly and have light surface patina. The original four-bolt neck plate has a C-prefix serial in the late 4000 range, consistent with the 1984 date on the pickup baseplate.

On the body, the simple stock electronics work as they should, Master Volume and Tone knobs and the three-way mini-toggle governing which coil(s) is selected. The original sticker is present on the pickup baseplate with a date of June, 1984. The Floyd Rose has clean plating save for light pitting on the bass-side saddles, and this vibrato functions effortlessly for the deepest dive bombs. The gloss Creme finish has a touch of yellowing, with concentrated pick wear on the treble side of the body, buckle rash extending along the length of the belly contour, finish checking along the center seam on the back, and a few additional small marks and nicks on the body as a whole. The satin-finished neck profile is flawless and silky smooth.

The original hardshell case is included.
