About This Listing

A very rare 1930's resonator - with Schireson Brothers cone.

These guitars were made by Kay Musical Instruments in Chicago - a reference to the model in a complete listing of Kay instruments determined that this model was only made in 1933 and 1934. Schireson was a builder in the 30s and was successfully sued by National for patent infringement which was the end of their company. They built guitars under their own name , but they also sold cones and had resonators built by Regal and Kay. The Schireson cone hasn't been made since 1935.

This guitar is in almost mint condition - a fantastic example of a guitar that is extremely rare in the USA and never seen this side of the Atlantic. It comes with an old period case which is showing its age.
