About This Listing

On sale a 1979 Gibson Les Paul Artist in ebony colour.

The guitar shows signs of its age but I think it's in great conditions. I've taken many pictures to show you as much as I can of it. The serial number appears to be 73069619 and that gives me 02 November 1979, Nashville as date and location of the production. It weights 4.6kg, which appears to be very light for that year.

I've inherited the guitar so I don't know its full history but I can tell you that a couple of things have been changed. Mostly the previous owner/s have upgraded some parts for better quality equivalents. Luckily all the original parts have been kept and are included in the sale (see picture).

There are two things worth mentioning,. One of the switches is slightly bent and there's a scratch on the bottom side of the guitar (the one that sits on your laps).  I've took a picture to show both. These are just aesthetic and don't impact functionality at all.

The guitar was set up with very low action from the amazing Charlie Chandler Guitar Experience in Kingston (London, UK). It plays really well and there's no problem at all, as far as I can tell.

This is from the first year of production of a rare Les Paul series that was made only for a couple of years. There's lots to say about the electronics. Bottom line is that you get the traditional Les Paul tone, plus many other unique sounds. I'd recommend browsing the web where you can find videos and articles about it.

I'd rather not ship it if possible, but I've put some shipping prices up. They are quite expensive because they include full insurance. If you want to organize a cheaper shipping just get in touch. Local pick up in West London (Acton) is ideal.

Happy to do a video for serious buyers. Just get in touch.

Thanks for watching!
