Here we have an unfinished natural tele body made locally (to Phoenix, AZ). It is full thickness 1 3/4", and weighs in at 4lbs 8oz. With a spray bottle, I have sprayed some water on it so that you may see the beauty of the wood grain. The top is a 1/4" thick slab of flamed maple and spalted maple. The back I am guessing is alder?
As you can see holes were drilled for a couple different tele bridge plates, but I think the holes may be off-center. Be aware that you may need to fill and re-drill mounting holes in order to mount the bridge plate square on the body. Fortunately, all the filled holes on the top will be hidden once you mount the bridge plate.
You will prob also want to use a 3/16" radius rounding over bit to shape the edges better than what the builder did when they made the body.
In the right hands this body has great potential to be part of a beautiful tele build project.
