About This Listing
PRS Paul Reed Smith SE 245 with several major upgrades in very good condition. All mahogany, neck and body. Nice stable, straight neck. Only used at my house and to jam with friends.
The basic guitar is an amazing quality, bang for your buck axe in its stock condition. Beautiful wine red finish with only a few pick marks
I made it much better by replacing the stock pickups with a Lollar humbucker-sized P90 neck with tortoise shell cover (superb fat & warm sounding) and a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge.
I also had the impossible-to-intonate stock bridge replaced with a high quality Tone Pros AVT2M bridge. Can be intonated precisely now.
I also had my luthier replace the much too high cheap stock nut with a precision cut bone nut. Between this and the new bridge, the guitar has more sustain and is beautifully resonant, even acoustically
I replaced the stock tuners with quality, made-in-USA Sperzel locking tuners with white pearloid buttons.
Lastly, I replaced the stock capacitors with mylar (or is it metal film) capacitors with tighter tolerances than stock. Same value, 0.022 uf, but better quality.
Comes with PRS gig bag. I've got a lot more than the current price of a new one invested in this guitar. A new SE 245 can run up to $750, maybe more. My starting price, while not much more than a new one, includes improvements that will vastly improve your tone and playing experience.
A value conscious, quality alternative to a Les Paul or cheap, inferior Les Paul clone. Don't be afraid to make an offer.
