Urei/JBL Model 7110 (LA-10) Compressor, w/ Burr-Brown opamps, re-capped & calibrated

This unit has been fully re-capped and calibrated. The input opamp is a quad, which has been upgraded to an OPA1644 with full local decoupling and phase compensation, much lower noise than the original TL074. The recovery opamp is now an OPA134, which drives a discrete transistor output stage. The opamps are socketed so you can change them if you wish.

Mono VCA compressor, equivalent to an LA-10. Separate thresholds and time constants for peak and RMS detection, with a control for how far apart the two thresholds are -- very helpful for controlling both transients and overall loudness. The peak detector's attack/release are fixed, RMS detector's attack/release are variable. Thick and meaty-sounding, great for bass, kick/snare bus, vocals, or even acoustic guitar.
Terminal block, XLR, and 1/4" TRS ins and outs, with detector/sidechain access. Input and output are both DC-coupled, and the output is servoed to remove DC offset. Please note that like >95% of 7110s, this unit does not have an output transformer -- but the PCB has pads for a Jensen JT-14550, which you can purchase separately and easily install by following the instructions in the manual.

Note that the power cord has been changed to an IEC-male "pigtail," so you can use a standard power cord of any length you like (not included). Handy for keeping racks tidy.

Some typical cosmetic wear and tear on this unit, with rack rash on the top and bottom panels. Front panel is clean and nice looking. Still has the original chassis/circuit ground jumper.
