About This Listing

Price is for ONE UNIT

This is a special build of the CAPI VP312 Mic Preamp with a two-step Hi-Pass filter mod. An additional three position switch next to the phase switch lets you chose from Flat or two different low cut frequencies with a gentle 3dB/oct slope.

My standard settings are as follows:
  • Down = Flat
  • Middle = 110Hz
  • Up = 220Hz

If you would prefer slightly different frequency settings, I can easily swap 150Hz or 280Hz settings in. Just let me know when you order if you would like any of these variations.

I am using high quality WIMA Polypropylene caps (with 2.5% value tolerance) for the filters and a high quality NKK switch that blends in very well with the other controls aesthetically.

These are not made to order. I normally have them in stock and installed in my rack. So usually no delay on shipping however they are "used" (and burned-in/tested on real sessions).

I love the VP312s because of the simple low-parts count audio path. The Lo Cut Switch makes them even more versatile for me and these have become my go-to.

As for the CAPI options, I build these with the stepped gain control and the Litz Output Transformer. All good stuff from end-to-end!

The price includes a Rogue Five Discrete Op Amp (DOA).  If you would like a different amp (or no amp), I'm happy to give you a quote.
