1941 Kay model 55 cello. 3/4 size. Serial number 9105. Makes a wonderfully rich deep tone.
Body is in really good condition for nearly 80 years old. There are scratches in the finish, bruises on the edges, a crack on the soundboard, a crack on the side panel, and in places chipped laminant, but overall the pictures show its condition. Bakelite tuners are in great shape, C-D-A have great friction and stay in tune but the G-string tuner is loosing friction. End stopper assembly is original and works.
New parts are the tailpiece and fine tuners, maple wood bridge, and Pro-Arte D'Addario strings. Plus a newly installed, hand cut ebony nut.
