For your consideration, a Electro/Ryder by Rickenbacker 1000 neck/body for your restoration project. This is a Rickenbacker-made short scale neck/body for their budget line Electro or Ryder brands. (You can tell this by the imprint of the trussed cover. It is not the Rick "slash" shape.)

It’s a nicely figured three pieces of maple!

It was sold to me as a Rickenbacker,  specifically a ‘64. Regarding the vintage, I have no reason to doubt the seller I bought the bones from. Excellent and knowledgable Reverbers were generous enough to provide me more information about the piece in a previous posting. I will give one last politic equivocation: Why would anyone copy such an obscure model?

I previously listed it as as a lot because I wanted to see the guitar assembled by someone up to the task. That proved to generate lots of curious interest but no serious buyers, so I am parting the project out.

Why am I selling it? It is a project that quickly snowballed beyond my own skills. It will require drilling and wiring and God knows what else.
Onto the stats: This is the ¾ scale 1000 Combo model, Rickenbacker’s true short-scale guitar, not one of the 400 series which are commonly referred to as short scale, but really aren’t at 25".
The 1000 has 18 frets, 21” scale. It is seriously diminutive.

The seller I bought it from said one of the truss rods had snapped at the adjustment nut. I discovered this was not the case. It appears it was loosened too far, the nut fell off and the rod slipped down in the pocket. I was able to tap it with a nail-set and expose the threaded end. Please see the photos. Replacement nuts are available from a Rickenbacker parts outlet online.

You will note that one of the the screw holes is stripped/dug out where the bridge would mount. I am selling a Winfield Vintage replacement bridge separately. The good folks at Winfield advised me that the bridge was improperly placed on these guitars, so the bridge mounting screws would need to be re-drilled anyway.

Ships in a ¾ scale gig bag. I think that’s everything. If I’ve forgotten anything, please feel free to ask!
