Fenix AE guitar. I was not familiar with this particular make of guitar before encountering this one of FB Marketplace. It was in pretty tough shape when I acquired it, but because this is what I do, I rescued it as best I could considering it's apparent age and it's battle scars. This guitar is made in Korea by Fenix, with the "Young Chang" label that makes guitars of some repute.. ?? They do make nice guitars is all I know, and their electric models are very nice, and pretty pricey. There is s more recent company called "Fenix" which I really know nothing about. The same maybe?
What has been done: - Refret with Fender standard medium jumbos, 1 through 12 - Misc. minor re-gluing and clamping at two locations on the body where there was a little separating of the back starting. - One of the tuners was damaged so I replaced it with a similar one from what I had lying around. If you want to improve this guitar, new tuners would be a good place to do so. - I lowered the action at the bridge and nut to a very playable level, (3/32nd to 2/32"), so it now plays very nice either finger style of flat picked. Saddle height is about as low as you can comfortably get it. One mismatched string peg. - The electronics did not work when I found this guitar, but after a little poking around they do now.
Nice great sounding guitar with a solid top and a great neck. Sounds really nice plugged is as well. It has had it's share of nicks and finish cracks as I tried to show in the pictures, but still a nice guitar that plays very easy. I have listed this guitar as "fair" because of it's age and the cosmetic nicks.
I am not a professional luthier, but I have repaired and re-fretted many guitars, so I know a thing or two about the process.
No case is offered, but I know how to pack guitars. All sales final, so please ask questions if you have them.
