About This Listing

Up for grabs we have here probably one of the single most interesting guitars I’ve ever had the pleasure of learning about and playing. The BC Rich Mag... now I know what you’re thinking... I didn’t even know that this kind of guitar existed and to be honest with you I didn’t either until I stumbled up on it. The serial number as far as I learned dates this guitar to 2002 though they were only available as far as I can see from 1999 until 2000 in their catalog.
I got this guitar not too long ago and since I saw it everything about it really did intrigue me. It wasn’t until I got it in that I realized that I have something truly spectacular. Fully inspecting this guitar I notice that the bracing goes all the way around the inside of the guitar and the whole thing is built incredibly well.
I did my fair share of research on plenty of sites trying to figure out exact what it is that I have when I came across a the BC Rich Handmade Series catalog from 1999 that this guitar was featured in. I finally knew exactly what it was and where it came from. I have a screenshot photo of the catalog page that this was referenced in.
If you’re a BC rich fanatic like I am then I’m sure you’ll be into it as well. Something about the the mockingbird shape for me really just feels as home and this acoustic guitar is a sound different in my opinion. The sound let me tell you... shocked me as well... for being such an odd shape for an acoustic guitar it’s incredibly resonant and very deep. The depth didn’t surprise me all too much but the overall clarity definitely did.
As far as cosmetics and aesthetics go there are very minor dings and scrapes to be seen but most importantly the bridge is in great shape! The dings themselves that I have photographed all of as far as I know of are only on the outside and nothing travels all the way through except for a small one near the sound hole that appears to be a 1/2 inch hairline fracture but in my totally honest opinion is really nothing major at all and doesn’t affect the overall integrity of the instrument whatsoever.
The on board electronics function extremely well and really give this guitar an accurate representation when plugged into an amplifier.
Note: the electronics were an added custom shop addition and was not included in the base series.
As far as a bag or a case. Unfortunately prior to listing this instrument I searched absolutely everywhere! For a case for this guitar to no avail. Even going as far as ordering a few but with the odd dimensions they proved to be to no avail. I will include a bag but it will be an oversized acoustic bass gig big just so it doesn’t have to travel in nothing. I have seen some calzone cases pop up that may work but they would have to be re moulded and then the fur added back which isn’t really in my expertise to do.
All around you’re looking at a real piece of BC Rich history and I haven’t seen another example like it anywhere or even referenced.
