This was the 9th Archtop guitar that John Monteleone ever built, back in 1979. John Monteleone started building in the 60's and primarily built mandolins in the 60's and 70's so this guitar is particularly rare. This guitar was made specially for a friend of Monteleone, Billy McEwen, a Long Island musician who currently lives in Norway. This guitar was designed to have the same finish and deep V-neck profile as McEwen's 1931 Gibson L-5. The woods were sourced from an older unknown violin maker who had acquired a fine collection of aged woods. European spruce top, curly maple back and sides, ebony fingerboard. Sounds absolutely gorgeous! Comes with a custom hardshell case.
