The Accuphase C-270 is a vintage high-fidelity preamplifier that was released in Japan in 1986, during the “Golden Era” of Japanese high-quality audio equipment. The unit is remarkable for both its highly advanced circuit engineering and the high quality of the components used in its construction. It was designed to specifically keep the audio as transparent as possible. The technical specs of the C-270 are impressive, featuring an all-stage cascode push-pull class A composition. Linearity and SNR are both exceptional. The signal path is controlled by a logic circuit and closed-type relays (optimized for audio signals), such that the shortest path is always taken. The equalizer amplifier features a low-noise FET. The appearance is elegant too, with the emphasis on luxury that Accuphase is known for.
