Up for sale today is this R.J. DiCarlo Master Craft Custom Classical Spanish Jazz Guitar with Hard Shell Case. The guitar is in very good to excellent condition. Guitar was originally purchased directly from Rich DiCarlo in the mid 1990's - early 2000's. Guitar plays and sounds amazing as do all of Rich's guitars. The lower bout measures 14.25" x upper bout 10.5". The body measures 4" deep. Inside the sound hole has the R.J. Dicarlo paper label with a serial number #622. Not 100% sure of exact woods used. Top looks to be Sitka Spruce, sides and back look to be East Indian Rosewood. Beautiful custom hand made guitar offered for a fair price. Rich only uses power tools to to bring the rough wood to working conditions. The rest is done by hand.

Rich DiCarlo began building guitars on a steady basis in 1981. He met arch top builder Jimmy D’Aquisto in 1969 to put in an order for an arch top guitar; the minute he stepped into his shop his whole life changed. In July of 1972 he picked up his instrument from Jimmy. It was and still is a masterpiece in Rich's collection. At that time he had been studying classical guitar for a few years so his musical tastes were changing. He asked Jimmy if he could possibly teach him some guitar building basics. He agreed and Rich would go to his shop whenever he had the time. Although he was an arch top builder, he knew everything about classical guitar construction. Rich was in contact with Jimmy until the time of his tragically early death.
