Keeley’s new Vibe-O-Verb pedal is quite a unique combination of both its namesakes. The pedal isn’t just a vibrato or just a reverb, in fact, it’s a seamless integration of each effect in one. Essentially, the Vibe-O-Verb takes a juicy foundation reverb and adds an effect of your choice to the reverb tails. It’s not unlike an amp that puts its tremolo before its reverb, like some vintage low-watt recording amplifiers. Keeley calls these chopped-up reverbs the “lost reverbs.”
Three separate effects—harmonic tremolo, vibrato or phaser—can be added post-reverb for some truly wild textures. The right side of the Vibe-O-Verb controls the reverb while the left side controls whichever modulation is selected with the toggle switch.
The reverb side serves up a Decay control that lasts a long time—with ample time to hear all the blissful modulation cutting up the reverb tail. There’s also a handy Mix control that helps dial the Vibe-O-Verb from subtle flavoring to 100% wet reverb space-out.
The modulation side contains standard Rate and Depth controls whose end-of-dials border on unusable—perfect. This ensures that literally every setting that players could ask for is present, from frozen-molasses slow to alien weaponry fast, everything is represented to enhance your reverb or mangle it beyond belief.
