The Ibanez SR300DXF is a fretless version of the popular, affordable, and extremely playable Ibanez SR Soundgear Bass! This model features the Ibanez SR4 neck and active electronics. You read that right, even at this price, the SR300DX is an active bass, just like the rest of the Soundgear line. A slim 24-fret neck and a comfortably contoured body have made Soundgear basses favorites with thousands of players.

Because it's not the same bass. Certainly it's still the sleekest and sexiest. And with all the SR models featuring active electronics, it's still the most tonally versatile. It still has the fastest neck. But Ibanez has continued to improve and update the Soundgear line.

SR4 Neck
Only 20.5mm thick at the first fret, the 34" scale SR4STND Soundgear neck is thin, fast and strong. The bolted on All Access neck joint allows the easy access to the upper frets associated with set-in and neck thru joints.
Agathis Body
A relative of mahogany with similar tonal characteristics, agathis provides warm lows with strong sustain.
If you are someone who has never played a fretless guitar or you’re not someone who plays fretless guitars often, I would highly recommend the SR300 from Ibanez Guitars as a beginner guitar.
Their fretless basses guitars are extremely comfortable and easy to play. This bass guitar fits a beginner’s budget perfectly when looking for new musical instruments. Also, it is a reasonable investment that you can make without having to worry about going broke.
In the tonal department of these basses guitars, there’s a lot to experiment with. The flexible EQ is one of the most exciting parts of this bass guitar.
With the neck joint set aside, there aren’t a whole lot of problems with the build of this bass guitar. In fact, some musicians may not like how lightweight this bass guitar feels. However, this may also stand as a positive for other types of musicians.
Through my personal experiences of playing around with the , I would say that this fretless bass guitar is great to use if you’re looking to get yourself introduced to the world of bass guitar.
