About This Listing
******* RARE & COLLECTIBLE CLOSET QUEEN*****
What can be else can be said about this guitar that the images don't already convey? This guitar is dope. Anyone who has ever owned or played an Ernie Ball Music Man knows that their ability in producing the highest quality, best looking and straight up playable work horse guitars is second to none. Improving on greatness is their bread and butter and nothing seems to be slowing them down. The attention to detail on every EBMM is remarkable.
This Fall 2018 Ball Family Reserve Stingray is absolutely no exception. Tonally, the custom voiced humbuckers will cover a vast spectrum of tonal possibilities. So whatever genre of music you play or whatever sonic space you need to find yourself sitting in the mix, it has you covered. The light weight African Mahogany body feels like next to nothing which is surprising at first glance of the large but sleek offset shape. The hardware is battle proven as it is fitted with EBMM designed vibrato, Sperzel Locking Tuners and their patented black compensated nut. All together giving you confidence in tuning stability and intonation. Finally the neck. THIS NECK IS BANANAS in every respect. The profile is a "Chunkier C" but not a complete base ball bat so many will find it very comfortable. The AAAA roasted, one piece flamed maple neck with black binding is suuuper fast and absolutely gorgeous. It feels like a well oiled rifle stock that will effortlessly allow you to send a barrage of notes down range with the same kind of ease of comfort.
This is a limited run of 35, WORLDWIDE! The next time EBMM will make this guitar with these specs, in this stunning Trans Walnut finish is ….. NEVER. The only other example I have seen with this figuring was here music-man.com/bfr/october-2018 and likely what they photographed was #1. May or may not be mine....but if it isn't mine is surely a very close second as it is #2 of 35.
I'm only selling it because I won't play it. Far too nervous to. The few times I did, which probably comes in at a blistering total play time of 30 minutes, I decided it is far to nice for me to ever chance scratching, chipping or dinging up...so I kept it in the closet since 2018. That's not the kind of guitars I want in my stable. That kind of anxiety isn't for me. But that is not everyone. Likely one of you is looking at it and saying "I'd play the every loving $#!+ out of that!" If that person is you then hit me up.
Thanks for the interest and reading this verbal diarrhea. If you have any questions or would like more specific images to be taken, feel free to message me and I'll get back to you as fast as I can.
Will entertain serious offers.
From Ernie Ball Music Man:
FAMILY MATTERS
The Ball family is the last of a dying breed, a family business making premium guitars and basses on the California central coast since 1984. Sterling Ball, alongside his sons Brian and Scott, combine the laser precision of robotics and old-world hand craftsmanship to develop innovative instrument designs that push the boundaries of performance and playability.
Ball Family Reserve is a celebration of our heritage in instrument craftsmanship which features some of the finest figured tone woods and finishes available. These rare pieces are offered in limited production runs and allow us to present instruments to the public that were previously reserved for family and our loyal artists.
