This is an authentic, superb REEVES Vintage Amplifier commissioned to be Made in England by HIWATT (2004)
The WHO recorded LIVE @ LEEDS using stacks of HIWATT amplifiers...
Note: We have a VIDEO, available upon request, of this Amp being tested @ Black Volt Amplification
Shoot me an e-mail, and I will forward it right away
Minor cosmetic issues, as to be expected for an amp this age. Still, it works great, inside is in mint condition
Note: This is a 50 WATT Amplifier that was Professionally Serviced @ Black Volt Amplification. Los Angeles, CA -
This model is still the same 100 WATT chasis, built using same metal frame & design. So, the wiring & parts, the schematics are not exactly the same as that version (see those 2 holes). During pro service, the technician only replaced, installed one new transformer (black). Made in Canada by Hammond - they have been making them since the 1960's
We tested it, made a 30 second video... it is extremely loud & powerful. Superb sound, a sonic remainder of The Who meets AC/DC, Free meets Humble Pie, if you know what I mean.
$1200 (as low as I will go) & $100 Shipping to Continental USA
REEVES AMPLIFICATION is named after Dave Reeves, the man who designed the old Sound City and Hiwatt amps. Dave started out in the mid 60s as a technician at Mullard. In 1966 he founded his own company called Hylight and designed the first line of amps for Sound City in London. In 1968 Dave cut relations with Mullard and Sound City, brought with him his original specs for the amps and Hiwatt was born. Dave Reeves created a unique amp that soon would be the favorite among many British bands in the 70s including Pink Floyd, The Who and Jethro Tull.
