About This Listing

This is the rare Byrdland Elitist made by Epiphone. Beautiful spruce top with maple
back and sides, in virtually new condition other than 2 non-performance affecting
slits in the surface of the finish, which I have shown up-close in the photos.
(Photo 3 is left side slit, photo 4 is right side slit, photos 5 and 6 are L & R
slit close-ups) The slits have not gone all the way through the top, leaving it
quite stable. I realize that slit appears to go all the way through in the the left
close-up, but it only goes through the binding, not the actual wood. The cracks
do not affect the tone or functionality of the guitar whatsoever. Be assured that
I have taken it to a local reputable luthier and have had the slits sealed on the
face as well as having them both cleated from inside of the guitar, which means
that a series of small square wooden supports have been glued in place inside
underneath the cracks to support and keep the wood from separating. There is also
a very slight crack underneath the pickguard up close to the cutaway that is much less
obvious than the other 2 cracks. It was also repaired as far as could be before reaching
the point of where the repair meets the inside sound bar. You may have seen this same ad
recently. I pulled it while I had the guitar repaired. The luthier has told me that it
would be alright for prospective buyers to contact him.

There are no scratches, dents or signs of wear other than very slight wear on the pickup
covers and very light picking marks on the pickguard. The case is in great condition
other than a few minor blemishes, only in the vinyl, not penetrating the actual wood
of the case. The case alone would price at approximately $150 if not more in present
condition. The guitar's serial number is T605506. My usage of the guitar has been
very minimal, having only played a few gigs with it. As stated, it is in seemingly new
condition, with less wear than you would find on most instruments hanging in a shop,
again, other than the splits in the finish. I feel that my asking price is fair when
compared to other guitars of the same model in the same condition but without the
blemishes, which are pricing closer to the $2,000 to $2,300 range.

The guitar is strung with a definitive "jazz gauge" of strings at present. I currently
have a set of D'Addario EJ21 strings on it, which is a standard jazz gauge and goes
12, 16, 24W, 32, 42, 52.

The guitar and case are selling in "as is" condition as described in detail here. No refund
of purchase. No trades.

Thank you,
Tom
