OK, OK. I'm really going to let my baby go this time. You're looking at my Ibanez Challenger Strat that I've owned since the late 70's. It comes complete with the original case,
original
bridge cover, and wait... the
original
tremolo bar. Yes, it even comes the warranty card! I just put a new set of strings on it as well. Please see the Youtube slideshow video for more images!
Alright, here is the scoop: Back in the 80's I replaced the first 3 frets with Jumbo's and recently the last fret since somewhere along the decades it was removed. Of all the things the neck, of course, shows the most wear. There are some dings on it as you can see in the pictures. One of the pickups has a small groove. The finish is still pretty with the exception of the neck. Outside of the aforementioned frets, everything is original except for the 6 screws that hold the tremolo cover on the back. I took it off years ago (like close to 40 years ago and for the life of me, I couldn't find them). I know people who pay money for a used-looking guitar. This is the real McCoy.
The new owner might want to have it set up. I didn't want to tinker with any of that and of course I believe the truss rod adjustment has to be done by removing the pickguard. This is not one of those silver bullet models.
So there you have it. These were reportedly only made for a year or so at the famous Fujigen factory. I hate to see her go but now it's time.
