Here is an ultra-rare and amazing carved-top 16" archtop. This is the Westville "Unity" in a "Standard" version with a humbucker. It is in near-mint condition with only a tiny ding on the top that could barely be photographed. It is perfect in design, dimensions and construction and plays like butter with very low action. The Westville “Unity” is the newest model of Westville's “Tribute Series” guitars and was inspired by the great guitarist Pat Metheny. It is a 16” fully hollow arch top guitar with a solid carved Sitka Spruce top and solid figured hard maple sides. Its back is made of a special figured hard maple laminate. Westville’s owner and designer Masaki Nishimura has been deeply influenced by the work and music of Pat ever since he was a student and in 2016 after meeting Metheny in person at the Blue Note Jazz Club in Tokyo Japan, he started work on the “Unity” model with close input from Pat himself. Masaki Nishimura designed the Westville “Unity” with deep respect for the great tradition of the Gibson ES series instruments while capturing the unique soul, spirit, and musical fingerprint of the great Pat Metheny in this unique and truly mesmerizing instrument.
