About This Listing

100% of the sale of this item will benefit The Legacy Children's Foundation - Alberta Since 2006, Legacy has been working hard to create all-inclusive music programming in Alberta that engages financially challenged families and vulnerable and at-risk children and youth in potential life-altering experiences. Through the Gift of Music we have witnessed the powerful draw that music has for these young people and how significant this program has been in shaping the lives of this community's most vulnerable populations.

The Martin saxophone is one of the most sought after collectible vintage brands around. Martin made a variety of different lines of saxophone from the years from 1919 to 1967. Some of the product lines were the “The” line, Handcraft, “Typewriter,” and others. It’s a bit confusing, but what collectors now call the “The” Martin saxes are ones that had “The Martin” engraved on the bell, with the type of sax, (alto, tenor, etc.) engraved above these words. (see pictures) Collectors rave about the quality of some of these old saxophones

This beauty is dated 1948, and still looks amazing and plays the same. No sax rivals Martins excellence in craftsmanship! Comes with its original case still intact.

Introduced in 1945, The Martin saxophone line bears its name beautifully engraved on the bell (see pictures). Arguably the best designed and most sought after of all the Martin horns, The Martin features an adjustable right-thumb hook, wire key covers, and soldered tone holes adding weight to the horn. These instruments were used by Art Pepper, Louis Jordan and countless blues and R&B players.

Don't let this piece slip through your fingers!

ABOUT US The Legacy Children's Foundation's Gift of Music Programs have been well researched and mirror programs from cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans and the international 'Guitars Not Guns' project in Toronto. The common thread that binds these programs is the incredible success rate of assisting youth to complete school and refrain from criminal behavior... the end result being contributing, self-reliant citizens.
