At normal tunings (i.e., medium & medium-high), this snare is very loud due to its size. When tuned very low, and when the batter head is dampened, this drum delivers a very solid low-frequency punch. The linear drive strainer, with notched tension bolts, stays in place so the snappy doesn't loosen during play. A new Aquarian Modern Vintage batter head has been installed. The Evans Hazy 300 was new a year ago and is in great shape. When not in use, this drum was kept in its bag, in a climate controlled room. I used this snare for specific recordings, and that project is now done. Your turn!
