About This Listing
This is an unknown brand guitar. It has a Marlin sticker on the back of the headstock, but a search for that brand does not turn up much. It could be a harmony or kay, but it is hard to say. It appears to be from the 60's, and it is in need of repair. It has a made in the USA stamp and appears to be similar in quality level to Harmony's. Nitro finish, etc.
I have been working on my guitar repair skills and tooling up to repair acoustics. Unfortunately, I haven't really done much other than buying some tools (but not enough!) and way too many project guitars!
This guitar needs:
Neck set
Frets
Potential for x bracing (and new bridge)
This guitar is similar to an L-00 in size, and could make a great x brace conversion. It has quite a flat fretboard radius, so I would recommend radiusing the fingerboard, refretting and potentially x bracing. The pick guard is celluloid and looks cool, and the neck has a nice fat C shape to it. Not too big!
No case, and guitar is sold as-is. This is a great project, but will require significant work to be a professional instrument.
