Hi folks,
Here a very rare Jackson.
It's a Jackson Archtop Soloist Custom from 1989 (best era). Serial JA0097 (you can barely see it on the board). As all Archtop Soloist it have mahogany body, with mahogany thru neck, and a very thick maple top (u can see the thickness with the binding).
This one is very special because it's not a Student but a Custom so it have bound ebony fretboard, sharktooth MOP Inlays, SSH pup's, 5 way blade switch and Floyd non recessed.
Pup's are Seymour Duncan SL'59 in neck, Hotrails in middle and TB6 in bridge. Tone have coil tap and all pickups can be split to single coil. 10 possibilities of sound on this guitar.
The guitar come with his original J/C case in good shape except some old stickers shadows and the case open in 180° not 90°. But work fine to close and lock.
This guitar got a long story so to be short here it is : I bought it more than ten year's ago in UK. It was in really, really bad shape. The previous owner played it without caution so have many crack on body, binding was completely yellowish, he sand the neck to remove the coat but don't oil or pore it so it was sticky as hell. He broke the Truss road and repair it (it's why the truss road way is bigger than normal). He change the strap position to put it like roads (and of the neck). Frets are in bad shape, ... The guitar was a mess.
I put a pictures to see the rear mess. The guitar was clear coat on maple top (see pics). On pics u can see veneer but in real life, u see nothing. The veneer was really really under viewed. So i save money to restore it. I give it to my luthier and he sand all the coat. We go for a brown mahogany finish on the maple top and red mahogany for the back. Fret leveling, new electronics, new black hardware (to fit the color better) and new coat. The finish is really gorgeous. Only binding and head cap tell the story of this guitar. U can see some yellowish spot on binding, and some darker spot on head cap. U can see the old position of the odd strap idea either.
Anyway, this guitar play and feel amazing now. Working perfectly, looking gorgeous, and veneer top is now completely shown in every direction when you look at it.
Since 3 years now, i had some health issue with my right shoulder so i can't play my guitars as i want. So time to part away from some and let them express all their potential in other hands.
I can make other pictures.
I have pictures when i bought it, when it goes in the luthier hand too.
I can ship it.
Thanks for reading all this stuff. Play well !
