Armstrong Eb flute, RARE "Soprano Flute" silver

For sale is a vintage 1960's Armstrong Eb Soprano Flute with a solid silver head-joint. Completely overhauled! Serial number 6267x

Flutes in the key of Eb are rare and really fun to play. Sometimes called the soprano flute, they are pitched a minor third above the standard C flute. It reminds you of a piccolo but… with a much prettier tone. Perfect for latin Salsa music and jazz. Soprano flutes are also used in flute choirs. The head-joint is solid silver and the body is silver plate.

Armstrong only made these for a few years. For size comparison, please see the photo below showing a standard C flute, the Armstrong Eb flute, and a Yamaha Piccolo. (The C flute and piccolo are not included in this listing.)

This flute has been completely overhauled with all new pads, corks and felts. It has been 
disassembled, cleaned, polished and lubricated. As a side note the body and foot-joint are all one piece.

The case is a period-correct Gemeinhardt in good condition. Not the prettiest case but it is protective and functional.
