This wonderful guitar overtakes us directly from acollector. 2019 was a special year in the Fender Custom Shop where a smalllimited edition of the Tomatillo Strats with roasted body and neck were built.
The Tomatillo pickups hand-wound by Josephina Campos -underwound Alnico2 - sound more than wonderful in this guitar. Sweet in tone,extremely open and a sufficient portion of dirt, if you want it. In theforeground, however, the basic character of the guitar always remains with alot of wood in the sound - wonderful!
We already had several Tomatillo Strats in our hands -but this one won us over from the start.
Not to mention the breathtaking flames on the neck ...three-dimensional at the highest level.
It doesn't always have to be a masterbuilt to get aspecial guitar.
And we are convinced that these Tomatillo Strats arealready today's classics of tomorrow!
