For sale we have a lightly used parts guitar, built in the style of a Fender or the 920D Modified Billy Corgan Stratocaster. TO BE CLEAR, while the parts from this guitar originated from the Fender and/or 920D companies, this guitar WAS NOT ASSEMBLED by either of them. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING, and understand that although assembled from both official Fender and 920D parts, NEITHER COMPANY ISSUED THIS AS A COMPLETE BUILD, AND IS NOT BEING REPRESENTED AS SUCH.  This is guitar was put together by an unknown individual with no affiliation to either company.  Take a good look at the photos, read the listing, and please feel free to ask questions. This guitar represents $1275 in new parts, see itemization below.

Overall this guitar comes together very well, it is a good build,  and it rocks. It was in our retail store up until pandemic (we are closed to the public for now) and everybody who played this guitar loved it. It is set up very well and plays easy. It sounds great,  powerful transparent tones when clean, but does gain, and even gain on gain very well. That is what this guitar is all about. Low noise, but not noiseless, and it doesn't get super bright when crushed. Very well rounded guitar sonically for hard rock, metal, noise, etc. Low , flat action, plays very well up the neck.

This is a clean guitar. that looks awesome. No dings or abuse, some scratches on the rear trem cavity cover, very light fret wear, some light scratching/normal wear to the pickguard, but hardly played overall . . . a rock solid "very good" condition. Please note, WE DO NOT HAVE A TREMOLO BAR for this guitar. Will ship in a clean, used Fender Classic Series Wood Case ($160 New). A great guitar, a lot of value here, even if you choose to part it out again. Look below for an itemized breakdown of components.

PARTS/BREAK DOWN/BUILD NOTES:

I called customer service of both Fender and 920D, who were both quite helpful. The neck is a MIM 2016 neck for a Deluxe Stratocaster, per Fender, the neck actually shipped early 2017 on a Sapphire Blue guitar, so this neck was parted out from that guitar.  The tuners appear to be original to the 70's styled neck, and match the specs, The body, per Fender, an alder body that was bought from Fender as a stand alone body in its original white finish. They could not specify the white, it has a bit of a cream hue to it, almost like an antique white. It is not a pure or Arctic White. Please note that this body has been chambered (see photos), overall weight of the guitar is 7 lbs. 11 0z.

I called 920D to make sure that this was not one of their builds that they were doing around 2018, and likely it is not. The pickguard is for sure one of their pre-loaded guards, their Custom Dimarzio Billy Corgan Style Loaded Stratocaster Pickguard w/5-Way Auto Split Switching. It has a DiMarzio DP225 BC1 Neck Pickup, a DP184 Chopper Middle Pickup, a DP226 BC2 Bridge Pickup, Fender Locking Tuners, 920D 5-way configuration, and is set up very well. Obviously, the neck plate is theirs, too.

DiMarzio Billy Corgan/Chopper Pickups

The BC-1 and BC-2
When DiMarzio started working with Billy Corgan on the pickups for his signature Strat, they sent him several models to try out. He liked the Air Norton S in the neck, Chopper in the middle and Tone Zone S in the bridge. After playing them on several gigs, he asked for some changes in the neck and bridge pickups. He wanted a deeper sound from the low strings without losing any punch, and he didn't want the sound to get muddy with high-gain amps. To do this, DiMarzio lowered the frequency response of one of the coils in each pickup just enough to boost the bass while opening up the mids. The end results are the pickups that are now in Billy's signature Strat. They do exactly what he wants in humbucking mode, and he's found they work really well in split mode as well.

BC-1 Specs

* Wiring: 4 Conductor
* Magnet: Ceramic
* Output mV: 290
* DC Resistance: 11.62 Kohm
* Year of Introduction: 2009
* Patent: 4,501,185

BC-2 Specs

* Wiring: 4 Conductor
* Magnet: Ceramic
* Output mV: 315
* DC Resistance: 13.47 Kohm
* Year of Introduction: 2009
* Patent: 4,501,185

Chopper
The Chopper is the louder, punchier brother of the Fast Track 1. More power is concentrated in the mids and low end for a bigger sound with more crunch. It shares the same side-by-side coils and twin-blade construction as the Fast Track 1, so there are no misaligned poles or string-pull problems. We originally designed it as a bridge pickup to combine with The Cruiser and Fast Track 1, but it s also a good neck pickup when you've got a hot humbucker in the bridge position.

The Chopper Specs

* Wiring: 4 Conductor
* Magnet: Ceramic
* Output mV: 260
* DC Resistance: 9.16 Kohm
* Year of Introduction: 1994
* Patent: 4,501,185
