Buffalo FX Reticon Flanger - Serial #1 w/ box & accessories

Up for sale is the now-infamous Buffalo FX Reticon Flanger (hotly debated and chronicled on the Gear Page forums), a pedal shrouded in mystery and consternation after the Buffalo FX company folded and builder Steve Painter seemingly vanished after only the very first batch of this pedal ever made it out the door.

This pedal is serial #1 (of just 15 known units in existence) and comes with original box, instruction manual, and card signed by Steve Painter also indicating that the pedal is #1 (it is also listed on the box). The pedal itself is in excellent to near-mint condition with barely any signs of use-- it's been strapped to my pedalboard (via zip tie) since I received it this summer and it has seen limited use. The pedal sounds fantastic, with lots of tone sculpting possibilities at the ready, and works perfectly. I'm only parting with it because I am a player, not a collector, and it feels weird to have such a super rare and now discontinued pedal hogging up my pedalboard's limited real estate. And so, with some hesitation, I am opting to let it go.

Considering that Buffalo FX is no more, only 15 Reticon Flangers apparently ever made it out, this is production #1, and it works/sounds/functions like new, this might be the only opportunity to ever snag one of these. I have no doubt that the Reticon Flanger will be worth even more as time goes by and its legend grows!
