A uniquely American instrument made by one of the most highly regarded dulcimer makers. Bob Mize made over 3,800 dulcimers in Blountville, Tennessee for the 36 years he was making them, beginning in 1967. A dulcimer that he made for Mother Maybelle Carter resides at the Appalachian Country Music Association in Bristol, Tennesee. His instruments are also on display at The Smithsonian Institution and The Tennesssee State Museum. He made dulcimers for the state of Tennessee where they were given away to foreign dignitaries. This gorgeous walnut hourglass shaped dulcimer is a premium example of American instrument making. We have no case or bag, but it is in great condition and will be carefully packed for shipping. It utilizes the traditional friction pegs preferred by the purists. They work well. Own a functioning piece of American history.
