60's original Airline
Res O Glass- two pickup guitar acquired from the original owner. The case is a 60 era solid wood case and
appears to be professionally made, as typical 3 lock box.
The pickups sound like Humbucker's and are sweet at lower volumes and hot
cranked. The POTs could be cleaned but have no dead spots. The
bridge (floating) is aftermarket but intonation is exact. If I were to
keep this, I would drill (tune-o-matic) anchors and install a Gibson bridge permanently.
The neck has a very slight back bow but there is no intonation issue or fret buzz anywhere. Frets are in amazingly good condition for a 60 year old guitar and was probably owned by a open chord player.
Pickup height is adjustable with a slotted screw on the top of the pickup. The back comes off to reveal the electronics.
Tuners are Kluson 3x3 original 60's and the D peg is slightly bent but still operates normally.
Note: Weather checking cracking on the (white) headstock overlay.
As noted in a photo, the guitar has a S/N and is the original Airline/Kay/Silverton, Res-O-Glass. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for checking out this cool guitar.
