The guitar pictured is the actual guitar you will receive!
At The Farm, we take actual pictures of each instrument and make sure they are fully set-up and ready to play before we ship them. Each instrument goes through a multi-point inspection, followed by a set-up process by our in-house tech staff. We then photograph each instrument with high-quality equipment in our on-site photography studio. We know that details like wood grain and color finishes can vary, so we want you to be able to see, to the best of our ability, exactly what you will be receiving.
This process takes over an hour for each instrument - from inspection to pictures. We care about the instrument we put into your hands! Rest assured your guitar was not just plucked off of a shelf and drop-shipped to you from a warehouse without care.
As a tribute to Eddie Van Halen in his early years, Kramer designed a 1984 model that brings the legendary 5150 Kramer to life. The 5150 is absolutely one of the most recognizable guitars in rock and roll history.
The original guitar was put together by Eddie in the Kramer factory from the very beginning to painting it himself. He put together a very simple guitar, with a simple sound. One humbucker, a Floyd Rose tremolo, and a single volume knob was all he needed. While most people thought that the body was a Kramer Baretta, it was actually known as the Kramer Pacer Special. This particular guitar, the reissue, is called the Kramer 1984 and is very similar to the body shape of the original 5150.
When Eddie Van Halen introduced his famous red, white and black striped 5150 guitar in 1984, he never would have fathomed the thousands of copies it would inspire. But then again, Eddie has made a career of being copied in every way imaginable.
After meeting Dennis Berardi on an airplane flight in 1981, Eddie became interested in Kramer guitars, and eventually made an endorsement deal with the company. In 1983 the Kramer Baretta was introduced as the first EVH signature model. The new guitar was heavily based on the Frankenstrat, and featured the same red finish with black and white stripes. The guitar got it’s nickname from Eddie’s 5150 Studio finished in 1983, where all the subsequent Van Halen albums were recorded. Eddie played Kramer guitars from 1983 up until 1991.
This Kramer 1984 Reissue features an Alder body with the famed red, white and black stripes, with a Maple neck with a skunk stripe and Maple fretboard. And, just like the original it is equipped with a Floyd Rose bridge, one humbucker and one volume control.
Kramer produced the 1984 Reissues in 2004 and 2005 and according to the serial number, this guitar was made in 2005.
This is a used instrument and does show some signs of slight use, but has been fully tested and plays as expected. Please take a moment to review our pictures, as they accurately portray the true condition of the instrument. This guitar has been kept with the rest of the Eddie Van Halen collection in our store and has not been accessible to the public to be played or handled, however it is still a used instrument. We did not acquire it as new, but have had it in our collection for the last 6-8 years.
