As a tribute to the great Brian May of Queen, RS Custom Guitars started making reproductions of Brian's special guitar referred to as the Red Special. Brian had built the guitar with his Father and it has become guitar icon like Brian himself. Since RS Custom Guitars is no longer in operation, this is a very collectible instrument. With great attention to detail, this reproduction has been crafted to the most accurate specifications, only the fretboard wood has been changed from the original Black Stained Oak to this model's highly glossed Ebony. Everything else from the strap buttons, to the motorcycle valve springs used in the tremolo, the roller bridge to the custom knobs have been crated as replicas. The Burns Tri-Sonic pickups, each with their own on/off and in/out of phase switches offer a wide range of tones, some of which you will recognize instantly. This excellent condition instrument belonged to one owner, Mike Eldred formerly of the Fender Custom Shop. Mike came down to our store for a visit and brought this gem with him, we are proud to now offer it to our customers.
