DIY made with components sourced according to the circuit designer. This module was assembled and tested with care at Lady Techno Sound Boutique.

This is a MONSTER bi-directional sequential switch. More just a simple multiplexer, it's an NLC design so it’s deceptively deep, happily accepts audio and CV signals, and can be clocked with an audio rate signal. There are many patching options here.

  • Switch between 32 inputs or outputs
  • Outputs triggers if there is no input
  • CV control for step direction and reset
  • Red LEDs display the current step in binary
Includes cable and M3 screws. No-contact pickup available in Chicago.

From NLC:

Only had a short play with this so far but already am finding it a very interesting module and suspect I want to have 2 of them. Send signals from one VCO to the clock and input, split the waveform up into 2 -32 sections (use reset to select how many), send some or all of these sections off to various VCFs, waveshapes, VCAs, etc. Then use a 2nd 32:1 to put all the sections back together....or forget the FX and just put the sections back together in a different order to create a new waveshape.

What is it? a 1:32 or 32:1 mux. It can split one input signal into 32 outputs or switch 32 inputs into 1 output. Use the reset to get lower counts and the direction control to add a dash of complexity to your mux. If nothing is patched into the in/out jack, it works as a 32 stage counter.

Update: please note there is a small glitch with out 1 which gives an extra trigger on count 17. For most duties it is not noticeable, tho it is when the module is used as a gate/trigger generator. In this case maybe do not use out 1 and enjoy the other 31 outs instead, or use out 1 and enjoy a bonus extra trigger pulse. The false trigger is caused by a slight delay when switching the Enable function on/off on the DG508 ICs.
