I purchased this Buffet S1 from Tenor Madness last year with the intention of getting it re-padded but it played so well on the original pads that I never got around to it. I treated the pads with neatsfoot oil when I received the horn which turned them dark but they are still soft with some life in left in them and are sealing very well. You won't find many S1 tenors in this condition. Original lacquer near 100%. No major repairs or re-solders. The neck is perfect and has never been pulled down. The only thing I can find is a little acid bleed around the bell to bow brace, a few tiny very light pings around the bell. It appears the front inside roll of the bell lip had a ding removed. Other than that, it looks like it has spent most of or the past 40 years in its case. The horn is in superb mechanical condition with the keyword straight, tight and slick under the fingers. This was Buffet's flagship tenor and designed in response to thr Selmer Mark VI. It's incredibly well engineered with modern key work and great intonation. It more focused and flexible with even better tuning then then its predecessor, the Super Dynaction. It's one of those tenors with just the perfect amount of resistance that makes it fun to play and feel very responsive and controllable. A great description and comparison of the S1 to the Mark VI from Tenor Madness website is shown as a screen shot in the pictures. I'm selling this horn along most of my tenors to finance some other projects It will be packed VERY carefully in it's original case for shipment. Shipping within the US only.
